You are at the centre of your language holidays. Beyond learning, you'll be creative, participate in decisions, have fun, and meet new friends. | Few things are as effective and enduring for one's language development as social interaction in a context, in which the language is actively being spoken. This not only applies to our mother tongues, but is to the same degree true for foreign languagesand is not only confirmed by language theorists, but coincides with our 33 years of experience as a provider and organiser of young peoples' language courses, which promotess the strengths of individuals and builds upon the positive effects of group dynamics and the interpersonal contact with native speakers. Active Language Holidays combine, in a well-balanced and convergent way, a diverse range of leisure time arrangements with value-added teaching that is intensive and listens to the study objectives and needs of individuals. |
What will you find here?30 years ago, Ms. Janet Muth-Dunford established her language school, sa es. Earlier, while workig as an English teacher in Germany , she realised that in the race for field knowledge and good grades, many students were increasingly missing the feeling of community and interpersonality that used to make school such a special time. The founding concept of the Active Language Holidays was, and remains, to bring about a school that proves: it is still possible to make a difference. After all, every individual is unique and important, and that's just how you are treated and perceived at our school. You get the chance to have your say and contribute to decision making processes, you can take responsibility, and there's nothing to stop you unleashing your full creative potential. | |
We are one team. | The team consists of you, approximately 30 students working in small classes of maximum 8 students, as well as very well qualified tutors and the Helpers, not forgetting Janet (the school manager) who is there to make sure that everything is as ir should be.
Naturally, your English will improve significantly in due course. However, we want you to get even more out of your time here.
With regard to the past years, our large and growing circle of friends and former students, some of whom have been here even more than once, our founding conceptto design language studies in a more humane and interesting way, hence more successful for those involvedseems to meet our students' approval. |
